Jackie Milligan
My name is Jackie and I am a foodie. As a small child, my mother inspired me with the love of good fresh food made from scratch. I embraced the knowledge she gave me and ran with it, I have never looked back.
As a student at the University of Texas I indulged my insatiable thirst for knowledge. Besides receiving a bachelors degree in Psychology with a minor in business; I took additional courses in history, geology and paleontology.
On Sundays I would spend the day planning and cooking themed dinners for my friends.
The last 20 years of my life have been a rewarding journey through the food service industry. Most recently I spent 7 years as assistant manager of a restaurant which served Korean and Chinese dishes. Before that, I was cook and assistant pastry chef of a French cafe and bakery.
My hobbies and interests are many and varied. Travel is a passion for me. Seeking out and experiencing out of the way, little known spots where I can eat and play like the locals are what my yearly trecks across the Southwest are all about. I have spent time in the Caribbean, New England and Europe. Every step of the way seeking out those hidden jewels that can not only create an enjoyable vacation but inspire you for a lifetime.
I also enjoy cooking for friends and have taught several friends and co-workers how to cook.
The outdoors, gardening, reading, writing, listening to music, photography, and playing board games round out my list of favorite hobbies and passtimes.
